Grades and Reports

The choir trainer will receive a report on each candidate indicating a grade, together with comments on the candidate's performance. There are three grades of pass and two grades of failure, which are as follows:

85-100

Distinction

An excellent pass

An excellent pass: on this showing the candidate could consider Associated Board graded singing examinations

70-84

Credit

A very good pass

55-69

Pass

Pass, but considerable work will be required before contemplating
the Bishop's Award

A satisfactory pass

40-54

Fail

Fail, but worth another attempt on this showing

Below 39

Unclassified

Considerable work is required before making another attempt

Successful candidates will receive a distinctive ribbon with the appropriate medal and certificate.

It is stressed that these grades are offered solely in the hope that they are of help to the choir trainers.
The assessment can be based only on the candidate's performance and response on the day of the examination.
